Kim Kardashian To Release Second Fragrance In 2011

Yesterday, Kim Kardashian announced, via her blog, that she will release a new fragrance early next year.

I am so excited to tell you guys that my second fragrance will launch in February of 2011!!!!! I wanted to let you guys know here first so you can all share the excitement with me :)

I'm at the commercial shoot now and cannot wait to get all glammed up! Look at these amazing dresses I get to choose from!

Kim Kardashian Rollerball Competition for Breast Cancer Awareness

In support of Breast Cancer Awareness, Kim Kardashian is inviting her most trusted advisors - her fans - to help her design the look of the new rollerball edition of her signature fragrance, debuting this October. Participants will have one week to create and submit a design inspired by Kim to kimsrollerball@gmail.com.

Kim will then choose the top three designs, which will be displayed on Kim's website, and her fans will vote on their favorite. Flora by Gucci Eau de Parfum

Top notes of fresh citrus and peony finish off the bouquet. Not only is the effect more intense and luxurious, but the scent also lasts longer on the skin.

For the EDP, Giannini has created a new white on black Flora pattern for the package interior, which gives a twist to the original and creates a new, richer look. The bottle's cap has been crafted from gold metal and the label in gold paper give it a precious and luxurious feel.

The new Eau de Parfum will be complemented by a special collection of luxury gifts that will launch in exclusive doors. The new products include a white scented candle decorated with the black Flora pattern, a luxury purse spray as well as a solid fragrance that is packaged in a sophisticated gold metal compact.

Warning About Marc Jacobs Daisy In The Air

I always thought Marc Jacobs Daisy smelled great in the bottle, but not so hot on me. I'm much more of a Lola gal, myself. So, today, while perusing Sephora.com, I noticed a new version of Daisy - called Daisy In The Air - and thought I'd check it out.

But after doing some research, I found that Daisy In The Air isn't a new version of Daisy at all. It's actually the original Daisy fragrance in a limited-edition bottle, adorned with light blue flowers. It comes with "a scented daisy chain to hang in your room for a touch of inspiring scent and playful visual appeal."

It's not clear at all, on Sephora.com, that this "new" Daisy isn't a re-imagination of the original scent. So I just wanted to warn Daisy owners not to be fooled into purchasing a bottle of Daisy In The Air - that is, unless your bottle is almost empty and you need to replenish anyway.

My Favorite Fragrance Ad: Dior J'Adore

Is there a better fragrance ad than the Dior J'Adore commercial starring Charlize? I think not. No only did it prompt me to get reacquainted with J'Adore's fruity floral bouquet (we originally parted ways in college), I even downloaded Marvin Gaye's "A Funky Space Reincarnation" on my iPod...good stuff.

The commercial for Miss Dior Cherie (directed by Sophia Coppola) is another great one. Dior just does it better. One perfume ad I could do without (besides the Britney Spears ones - those go without saying), however, is the Estee Lauder Pleasures commercial. I cannot stand the way Gwyneth Paltrow pronounces "pleasures"...her accent just sounds so contrived; makes me wince every time she says it. My theory is that she's spent too much time viva la vida in London. Anyway...now, when it comes on TV, I brace myself for it. Too bad...great perfume, stinky ad.

Though you can't buy Kim Kardashian's new fragrance until February, you can get a sneak peek at Sephora.com and be notified when it's available for purchase.

The essence evokes Kim's sultry style with crisp top notes, lush mid notes, and a sexy drydown. Gorgeous, voluptuous florals reflect her allure, while soft jasmine, tuberose, and gardenia mirror her femininity. Tonka bean, jacaranda wood, and sandalwood add a warm, sensual base.

Vera Wang Glam Princess

Vera Wang has added a new fragrance to the Princess lineup.

Glam Princess is "for the boldly brilliant girl who is ready to celebrate and rule the world in the most glamorous way. She introduces herself with guava and juicy pear, reveals her beautiful heart with liquid honey and vanilla orchid, and offers sweet depth with marshmallow accord and cedarwood."

Zoe Kravitz has succeeded Camila Belle as the new face of Vera Wang Princess. Descended from rock/celeb royalty (her parents are Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet), I think she's a great choice to usher Princess into the a new decade.

So, does Glam Princess rule? I actually haven't sniffed Glam Princess yet, but I own - and adore - the other Princess incarnations (Flower Princess, Rock Princess and the original Princess, which I wore on my wedding day)...so I plan to stop by Sephora this week and get a whiff. I'll let you know what my nose thinks soon.
